Life is full of challenges. Some negative, some positive. My biggest challenge this year would be making the decision to go back to school. I like this challenge because it is one of those positive ones. I love the entire process of learning. I knew it would be difficult and it is not like me to commit to something that I knew would take me four years to complete. But, how could I possibly pass up this opportunity.
Once the decision was made, I needed to decide on a major. After much research, I chose International Studies, with an area study track, emphasis on Asia. The last big decision was to pick a language, since the degree has a level three language requirement. The most obvious choice was Mandarin Chinese.
Some days, I think I must have been crazy to make such choices that have me on this crazy path. Other days, I am so excited with it all, I could just burst. Next week ends my first semester. So far, so good.
