Hair Did

I’ve had long hair since Tal was a baby. So that would be just about 15 years. I’m talking long, like to the middle of my back kind of long. Lately it’s been driving me crazy. Washing it took forever. Styling it took forever…so I almost always threw it up in a loose bun kind of thingy. God forbid I wanted it straightened (because I have a pretty hefty natural wave). This was a 2 hr process which would render my arms useless. Not to mention how heavy and thick it was.

Today, I had about 6 inches cut off of it with deep layers and had it thinned. I never realized how heavy my hair was before. It is so light now, I feel like my head is going to pop off and float away. I love the cut and style too!

These are the reactions I got:

Blain: “It’s good. Makes me want to pull it.” – Trust me, this is a good compliment.

Tal: “Oh my God Mom! I love it!” – Her allowance will be doubled this week.

Lula: “Wow. It looks totally 70′s.” – Hrmph! Like she would even know a 70′s haircut. She will not be getting her allowance for the rest of the year. BTW – she told me later that she really liked it and by the look on her face, I’m going to believe her.

Mom: “Really? You cut it? I can’t tell, because you normally have it pulled up. But, it’s very cute.” – She’s old. I’ll forgive the first part of the comment.
