If you don’t know me very well, then you don’t know that I love to debate the taboo subjects: Politics and Religion. You would also not know that I LOVE to watch the news, be up on current events, watch documentaries, etc. Basically, I love the process of continually learning and being aware of my surroundings.

I have purposely stayed away from these topics on my blog. Similar to the fact that I steer clear of talking any kind of specifics about my job. Blogging about my job could get me fired. Blogging about politics and religion could get people real pissed off with me. I guess you could say I have strong opinions on both subjects. Probably because I feel I know a lot on both subjects.

I am breaking my own rule today.

This election season is driving me batty! First off, they started all these shenanigans way to early. Second, I don’t really want to vote for either candidate. I must tell you know that I am an registered independent. I have, in the past, cast votes on both of the aisle. Both parties have good about them and vice versa. I have also voted in every presidential election since I was old enough.

I just don’t fully commit to either candidate this time. I have definitely ruled out Obama, he’s too far to the left for my tastes and his lack of experience makes a difference for me personally. However, I McCain has not convinced me to vote for him either. If I can’t make up my mind on him before November, I will be missing my first presidential election.

I am so irritated that do not have a clear winner to choose from. I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils. And don’t even give me that crap about a non-vote is the same as vote for the wrong person. I can not, in clear conscience, vote for someone that I can’t totally believe in. Sorry.

  1. You know, I agree whole heartedly!! Things I really don’t like to bring up myself…let everyone have thier own opinion without overbearing your own. And…as much as I believe in the power of voting, I don’t plan to this time around either for the exact same reason! It’s sad…really, we don’t have a better option to choose from in this whole entire country?! We’re just in a mess right now as a country & I don’t see anyone who is really going to make it all better again yet!!
