I realize I live in the South, but really is Florida the ONLY vacation destination around these parts???? It’s summer. Everyone I know has either recently gone on vacation or is now on vacation or will be going within the next two months. Where are they all going? You guessed it Florida! And where did they go on their last vacation (and the 10 vacations before that!). You guessed it again…FLORIDA!!!
People…I have been to Florida. Some parts of it are nice and tropicallyish. Some parts are downright trailer park trashy! But, every effing vacation??? I understand the draw of Disney and all the other gazillion theme parks and tourist traps of Orlando if you have kids to take and don’t mind have all of your money sucked out of your clinched butt hole. But, come on already with the Florida crap. I am so bored with it. I am going to claw at my face the next time someone tells me they are going to Florida!
There are so many incredibly cool places to visit with in reasonable driving distance of Georgia, besides the armpit of the south! Have some originality! Just think! If you were to come home from a vacation spent on the shores of North Carolina or the mountains of Tennessee, you could actually have something different to say to your cube mate, other than what they just said about their trip to Florida.

Well, our big trip last year was to….Florida. But, it was a FABULOUS vacation too! That was the destination due to family; but, being that we got to see them in Orlando & then head up to Panama City & Navarre, for more family, atleast we got to see more than just the typical tourist trap! Sorry Sandra…trust me, I’d like to hit North Carolina or even Tennessee sometime! Or even to come see you, that would be awesome!

Shauna, it is OK to visit Florida when you live on the other side of the country and go there for every freaking vacation. This was more directed at the people that live near FL and go there year after year.
