Last night we had an employee meeting and scrap mania. A scrap mania is basically when you drag all your scrapping gear to the store, set up at a table in the work room and scrap your ass off for long periods of time. It is fun, cause you can sit a socialize with everyone while you are scrapping, cause it is always more fun to scrap with someone than by yourself. It is also good to see other peoples work and get ideas from them, plus you get a chance to show of your stuff. This was my first employee mania and I am now so excited for the next one (they only have them a few times a year). Not only was the scrapping part of it fun, they also gave stuff away.
First off we got a gift card to spend in the store for all the hard work we did over the holidays. Then we got a gift bag that included the new Making Memories Desktop Carousel (to see it click here) that was filled with a bunch of goodies. Then they gave us $25 in fake money to spend in the other room which had two tables full of stuff. One table had items worth $10, the other with items worth $5. Now mind you, most all of the items were products used in our classroom that are no longer needed. Stuff like stamp sets, ink pads, tools, etc. I gotta tell ya, I could have cared less that these were used items, there was lots of good stuff. We took turns and got to go back several times and some items became cheaper and cheaper, until everything was gone. All of this so far was just too much for me to even dream of! The best part was yet to come!
They had three tables piled high of stuff like paper, ribbon, embellishments, stickers, etc. It was a one, two, three…GO! grab as much as you want it is all free!!!!! OH. MY. GOD!!!!!! My head was dizzy with excitement. I got some much good stuff! FOR FREE!!!! My head is still spinning! All of the free stuff was left overs from what was not used in the classes or slightly damaged or discontinued, etc.
I know not all of you (OK, probably none of you) get as excited as I do about scrap stuff, but I just had to tell someone about it! Blain could not share in my glee, he just doesn’t get it. I suppose it is the same as him trying to talk boat engine crap to me. Goes in one ear, and out the other.
But, this is why I work at the scrapbook store. It is my own personal nirvana!
