So, like christmas is in two days, right? Or really, since it is late evening on Sunday, it is really like in just over a day. Well, apparently a few weeks ago, I must have had a stroke, because I had the insane brilliant idea to make the girls some scrapbooks for christmas.

Previously, I had scrapped some of their pictures, but that was in my early days and the pages sucked butt nuggets, so I never put them in a book, they have just been sitting in a box for years. I took those crappy pages, ripped off the pictures and re-did them and they are turning out well enough this time to actually give them the honor of being in an actual scrapbook. Problem is, I have not had much time to get them done. I worked a bunch this week and I can only scrap in the evening after they go to bed, so many late nights and I am so tired right now, but I must get a bunch done tonight. Not only am I tired, but my kitchen table (the only place to spread out) looks like a scrap bomb exploded on it.

Cool thing is that I have learned a bunch of new techniques and have been able to buy a bunch of new crap (with my awesome discount) since I work at the worlds most awesomest scrapbook store.

My first (and only major) purchase was this kick ass die cut gizmo called “The Big Shot” by Sizzix.

It makes all kinds of really cool stuff and has opened up a whole new world to me. I practically pee my pants everytime I get it out and use it. My favorite is the penguin that I used sugar (glittery) paper for. Second place belongs to the ornament die that I used two different foil papers on. (It was difficult to focus on this pic, because the darn things are just so shiny.)

The other cool thing about working at my store is getting to do samples and demos and I get to keep some of the stuff. Both of these were for a demo I did a few weeks ago. Once again, plently of sugar paper was used, ’cause c’mon christmas is supposed to be all sparkley! Although these are meant to be gift tags, I am going to use them on some xmas pages. Get real! Who would actually put all the time into making something so freaking cute just to have your snot nosed kid rip it off the package with out a second glance. (Both of these used various dies that can also be used on my super dooper die cutter, I just don’t have these dies…yet!)

And if anyone is still awake and not with your head planted on your keyboard making key marks in your face and drooling onto your mouse pad…here are two finished pages! Yeah!

This one is one of Tal’s. The bubbles on the page were made with my circle die. Eek! Precious!

This one is the first page in Lula’s :( no dies used on this page.

Just one last note: every scrapbooker should have this most wonderful of accessories (besides the die cutter, of course)

This is my handy dandy sticker album. It zips up so that you don’t lose anything and you can add as many clear pages as you can stuff in it to organize all your stickers and other mostly flat items. When you are thinking about a page, just start flipping to see what kind of stuff you have on hand to go with your page theme. The third best thing to have is a tackle box with lots of drawers and tiny storage spaces for your embellishments like brads, buttons and eyelets.

If you can’t tell by now, this is what brings joy to my little life.
