I’ve been busy of late with getting the house in order, to which it is still very much out of order, working and such. The house is about 75% finished, which isn’t bad, since my last move finalized at about the 6 month mark. We get one room completely finished, or so we think, then start on the next which uncovers more for the previously finished room. It’s quite aggrevating. The good thing is that all the big furniture is now in place and the only thing left are the little things.
I also started a part time hobby job last week at a scrapbook store. It pays shit, but hello!, it is a scrapbook store, which is like Mecca to me. I am learning all kind of new techniques and finding new tools, embellishments and gadgets. I’m in heaven! God knows my entire pay check will be blown the day I get it.
The rest of it has been tying up all the loose ends with the business and other random things.
My day was made today when I had to go to the grocery store to get milk. As I was looking at a book/magazine display, trying to find the damn holiday cooking magazine they had on display (which I still never found) a book cover caught my eye. The book is called Rhett Butler’s People. If you know me at all, you know I am a HUGE fan of Gone with the Wind. It is my favorite movie and favorite book. If you have not seen the movie, SEE IT! If you have or have not seen the movie READ THE BOOK! I would also highly suggest reading the follow up book written by Alexandra Ripley Scarlett. You should also read what ever else Ripley has written, she is a great author.
So, of course, I bought the new book and have already started reading it. I also bought a new copy of Gone with the Wind and Scarlett, since my first reads were library books and I plan to read them both again and then when I am all done, I will watch the movie for the umpteenth time! One of these days I will make it to the Gone with the Wind/Margret Mitchell museum here in Atlanta.
I am pretty sure that my obsession love of this story has just about everything to do with why I agreed to move to Georgia. It’s freakish, isn’t it?
