We are now officially living in the new house and completely out of the old house! Yeah!!! The new house looks like a tornado ripped through the inside at this point and it probably will for at least another week.

From the outside it doesn’t look like anything that spectacular. It’s in a neighborhood where all the houses look like little boxes made from ticky tacky and they all look just the same. I wasn’t all that impressed when we first pulled up to look at it. The inside won me over in the end.
I am so glad that we were able to move in before Halloween. We have not been in a good trick or treat neighborhood for six years. Since we got to Georgia we always had to drive to the neighborhoods like this one to do our trick or treating. It was also the first time that the girls were old enough to go on their own and we stayed home to scare the pants off of answer the door to hand out treats. Blain donned his costume and sat limp as a dummy at the front door with the candy bowl in his lap. I was able to peep through the blinds to watch and listen. “Mama is that real?”, “No honey, it’s just a dummy.”…”RRRRRRAAAAWWWWRRRRR!”, “AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!”

We have a rule at our house, no cute costumes after age 2, it must be scary. I feel strongly that Halloween should be scary and it drives me crazy when people dress their kids all cutsie, it makes me want to stab someone in the eye with something pointy. We usually put much thought into the girls costumes, but with everything we had going on lately I just told them to grab some crap outta the halloween box, but they had to look mean or scary in some way or another. They did a pretty good job left on their own defenses, makes me wonder if they are ready to move out yet?
